10:10	<TheChoker>	i'm using a 2000 pro upgrade disc
10:11	<TheChoker>	during the install of 2000, it asks for a 95, 98 or NT disc to verify the "upgrade"
10:11	<TheChoker>	when i swap discs, and press return, it's telling me "not a 95, 95 or NT disc"
10:11	<TheChoker>	put it is!
10:11	<TheChoker>	any ideas?
10:12	<fuzzy>	try and give yourself two cdrom drives

10:12	<fuzzy>	one for windows 2000 one for windows whatever else

10:12	<fuzzy>	you can give it as many virutal whatevers you want

10:12	<TheChoker>	once i have a nice clean setup
10:12	<fuzzy>	what's happening is your windows 2000 is trying to verify against an image
10:12	<fuzzy>	but the image it's seeing is it's own
10:13	<fuzzy>	because xen isn't seeing the cdrom swap
10:13	<TheChoker>	the windows 2000 needs to verify i "own" a copy of 95, 98 or NT before it installs
10:13	<fuzzy>	that's what i'm saying
10:13	<TheChoker>	since it's an "upgrade" version
10:13	<fuzzy>	but when you pull your w2k disk
10:13	<fuzzy>	and put in whatever
10:13	<fuzzy>	the xen guest still thinks it's the windows 2000 disk
10:13	<TheChoker>	ok, i'll try that suggestion
10:14	<TheChoker>	all this because my office uses an active x based vpn
10:14	<TheChoker>	god
10:14	<fuzzy>	so the cheeky answer is to take your other disk drop it to a file, give that file a block device so it sees it as a cdrom and try that
10:14	<fuzzy>	but i'm not 100% sure that is the correct answer
10:14	<fuzzy>	i don't do hvm at the momment
10:15	<TheChoker>	when you say drop the othter disk to a file...do you mean as an ISO image?

10:15	<fuzzy>	you can use dd and make an iso image of any iso standard disk

10:16	<TheChoker>	and how do i "block device" the file image?
10:17	<fuzzy>	look at a conf file that uses file / loopback based mounts
10:27	<TheChoker>	actually, i just noticed i can disconnect/connect from the dcrom device via the virtual machine hardware properties page
