17:32	pdw	Um - I think I must have done. Certainly some of our customers do. Why do you ask?
17:35	lucia12345	I have 6 UMLs running at home, for fun and for learning. I am a sysadmin. When installing Perl from source I saw two tests failing (I don't know if that's normal or not) but it managed to install itself. The problem was running some test programs; it horribly crashed the whole host several times

17:37	lucia12345	the only thing I've seen fail in three years of playing with UML is Perl, everything else runs solid
17:38	pdw	You've been lucky :-) Once you get up to 2.4.29 everything starts to go a bit wonky.

17:39	pdw	We're struggling to find a stable kernel. We think we've got one, but it involves some combination of BlaisorBlade patches and the main tree (and you've got to disable sysemu)

17:44	lucia12345	the host console? I'm sorry I don't remember. That happened about 6 months ago. I remember telnetting into the host (it was still responding) and killing the vncserver where everything runs
