15:44	gnufan	Newsome, the problem isn't I think uml_switch, just getting any connection out of the UML box to the host.
15:45	gnufan	I'm going to try using address ranges totally independent of the host network for a bit....
15:47	gnufan	I assume I don't need the proxy arp specific bits until I want to talk to something made of ethernet.
15:49	Newsome	the host will probably at least need a host route to the UML's IP to be able to talk with it

15:59	gnufan	I think the problem was the netmasks used. I think I need specific host routes or it gets confused. Also I was using the wrong network ID, and I think the uml_switch utility was binding the wrong tap... all very fiddly.
