10:21	<tronix>	heh I used to work in a major CO building (employer was the ILEC) and we rolled out DSL with us handling the internet side of it
10:21	<tronix>	so we got to deal with DSLAMs and all sorts of fun stuff
10:21	<tronix>	'fun' because DSLAMs in the early days had an ungodly amount of
10:21	<tronix>	bugs that caused real issues :P
10:22	<tronix>	it eventually quieted down after about 3ish years once the DSLAM mfr got a handle on these things.
10:23	<tronix>	so all considered, probably just as well that you only recently got DSL access

21:39	<Darxus>	yeah I did actually google, but it was a pretty clear failure - strace just didn't work, not this goofy hanging screen the 3rd time I ran strace
21:39	<@caker>	I've tripped myself up with control-s before... (with or without screen), so I've incorporated hitting control-q when I encounter a frozen shell/session -- just to make sure :)

22:16	<Darxus>	caker: the reason I said I figured supporting linode would be a pain is a few years ago my job was high level support of a couple thousand unmanaged linux boxes (cobalt raqs) and drawing the line between what we did and didn't support was a major problem

22:35	<Darxus>	right but we had a lot of problems with customers saying the problem was the hardware / os we installed / etc.
